Michael Kors

My B-E-A-utiful new shoes from Michael By Michael Kors.

You know the type of shoes you see and you're like "omg they're gorgeous!" and then you try them on and you're like "hmmm not so much" ..... well this wasn't them. I tried them on and they looked a million times nicer on. AND they are so comfortable...I love love love these! x

❤ Adele ❤

I've always loved Adele and her music. She has such a fantastic personality and doesn't take herself too seriously, I love watching interviews of her. I ALWAYS love her make up and hair and think she is gorgeous, but this really seems to be her year. After watching her performance at the Grammy's I was in awe of her hair and make up. And her figure! She's lost a bit of weight, and I think she looks really good! Healthy but still womanly and curvy - she's definitely my number one girl crush!

YouTube Gurus

I was watching Promise Phan (dope211) on YouTube, and I love how she transforms her face to look like other people. She looks fantastic as  Adriana Lima and Taylor Swift
My all time fave is Pixiwoo though, Sam and Nic Chapman are so amazing!

Who are your favourite YouTube gurus? x

Sorry for such a lack of posting - have been in Abu Dhabi for 11 days without internet! Bought the "All You Need Is Gloss" Lipglosses from Benefit. 3 Double ended lipglosses, excellent texture, smell and colours!

From L-R: Almost Famous, I'm With The Band, Life On The A List, Who Are You Wearing, Back To The Fuschia, 24K.

Sorry for the bad quality, it's on my iPhone as camera is out of battery and I can't find the charger :S

My fave nude colour is Life On The A List - I actually had this one before I bought the set, but I am loving 24K and Back To the Fuschia (reminds me a little of Love Alert by MAC, but more pink, less red!) x

Funky Nails

I decided to do some cool leopard print nails instead of doing my coursework - I'm so bad for procrastination!

I gave a little nod to the ring finger trend of a different colour nail.

The colours I used:

Ring Finger -
Base: Rimmel Lycra Pro in Peppermint
Inner Circle: Barry M Nail Paint in Berry Ice Cream
Outer Spot: O.P.I in Dim Sum Plum (Hong Kong Collection)

Other Fingers:

Base (Barry M as before); Inner Circle (OPI as before); Outer Spot: Barry M Nail Paint in Black.

I did another one a few weeks ago
Base: Rimmel Lycra Pro in Gold Infusion
Inner Spot: Barry M Nail Paint in Mushroom
Outer Spot: Barry M Nail Paint in Black

Anyone doing any cool nail art this month?! x

Tip of the Day: Make Up

Don’t apply blusher while you’re smiling, as when you stop smiling the blusher will be low on your face, making it look like your cheeks are sagging. Instead apply blusher with a slight pout.

NYE Shoe Options

I have 3 shoe options for NYE, there are a pair that I am leaning towards which are from ALDO called Enriguez - yes, I know they are a bit vibrant and out there, but they actually go very well with the dress (I tried the combo on!).

The second option are "Glad" from Kurt Geiger, they are really nice and super comfortable! AND on sale now, which is a winner!

The 3rd option are these amazingly beautiful shoes, also from KG, called "Arrogant" - they are gorgeous but I think having a lace dress and lace shoes would just be too much lace?!

My last option are a pair of black zipped shoe boots from New Look - they're nice, but they are very very plain and when I tried them on I wasn't too sure.

What do you guys think?! x

New Years Eve Dress :)

I bought this dress from the last chance to buy section at Warehouse, and plan to wear it for NYE. I have photo's from the website, but obviously not on me as I haven't worn it out yet! But I have tried it on and I absolutely love it!

I think this dress is adorable and the lace is great. I got it at 25% off, so this cost me around £55 which I don't think is too expensive for such a nice dress!

What's everyone else planning to wear for NYE? x

Make Up Tips and Tricks

I'm sure people will know a few of these, but I thought I would do the post anyway!

  • Apply bronzer to the forehead near the hairline, temples, under the cheeks and the chin. These are the areas which tan the most when in the sun, so this will look more natural! If you want a bit of colour all over the face, use the bronzer brush without applying more bronzer to it to gently colour the centre of your face.
  • If you want to test out a lipstick in the shop, apply it to the pad of your finger, not the back of your hand, as this area is more like your lips so will show you the true colour.
  • You can use your lipstick as a cream blush for a dewy glow. If it's a bright shade (e.g fuschia) mix it with a little bit of concealer to take out the brightness and give it a more natural look.
  • Apply your foundation to your face first, before blending with a brush - this stops the product from being soaked up into the brush and wasted.
  • To contour your face subtly, use two different colours of foundation - one which is your skin tone, and one that is a few shades darker. Apply the dark foundation to the areas that I mentioned for bronzer, and the natural colour to the rest of the face and blend in with a brush. This method is better for a subtle look compared to applying your foundation first then using a contouring powder/cream as it blends better.
Do you have any other tips/tricks? x

I wish I could do my hair like this :( I can't get the bow right! but her curls are gorgeous!!

Best Budget Buys for a Night Out

I decided not to take any photo's due to the fact that I didn't really like the quality of my iPhone camera for the other photo's, but if you really want some photo's please let me know :). All of these (except ELF) are available from Boots or Superdrug.

17 Photo Flawless Primer (£4.99) - This is the best budget primer I've used. It creates a smooth matte base, similar to Body Shop Matte It Primer (if any of you have used it) and really does leave skin flawless for foundation application.

Bourjois 10 Hour Sleep Effect (£9.50) is great. It has medium coverage but is quite lightweight so it doesn't feel like it sits on your skin. It gives a really nice dewy finish and is oil free. I love using this in winter when my skin is a bit drier compared to a foundation made for combination oily skin. A disadvantage to this product however is that the colour range isn't amazing. My sister uses Sleek Skin Revive Foundation (around £7) which comes in 30 different shades. Because of the large colour range, if you needed to, you could mix 2 different colours together to get your perfect shade. It's silicone based but oil free and gives medium to full coverage depending on how you apply it.

17 Hideaway Cream Concealer (£3.99). I find this concealer the best for under eye circles due to it's creamy consistency. I don't really like the stick ones for under the eye as they drag and I find them a bit harder to blend in. This is also good for blemishes, so I would recommend buying two colours - one a similar shade to your foundation for blemishes, and one a few shades lighter for under eye circles.

17 Loose Powder (£5.49) - this is a good budget translucent powder, and I find it can go on flawlessly as long as you use a good brush and aren't too heavy handed, otherwise it's cakey.

ELF Mineral Blush in Coral (£3.50) or ELF All Over Colour Stick in Pink Lemonade (£1.50) and this smells absolutely gorgeous too! It's in a cream formula with a slight shimmer so perfect as a dewy blush and really easy to blend. You can buy other colours to use as highlighters.

Barry M Dazzle Dust (£4.50) - the range of colours are amazing! As well as that, they are highly pigmented and really easy to blend, plus they last all night, which is always good. The actual pot lasts ages too because it's a loose powder and you really don't need a lot. These are a great budget buy if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to something like MAC loose pigments.

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner (£7.99) - I have this one in brown which I bought in Hong Kong but you can only get the black one in the UK. They last for ages, so this would be my second favourite to BB Gel Eyeliner.

Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara (£4.99) - I LOVE this mascara, and it's so affordable! I bought this after I saw that the brush had two sides (shorter bristles for the lower lashes, and longer bristles for the top lashes) and wanted to see if it compared to Max Factor Masterpiece (which it does) as that is my usual mascara.

Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil (£2.99) - I think this is quite good for its price, however you do have to be quite careful with this, as if you are too heavy handed, you end up looking a bit like a drag queen with drawn on eyebrows (which is never a good look, unless that is the look you are going for). The downside is that they only come in 2 colours (hazel brown and dark brown) so don't cater for those with lighter eyebrows.

Collection 2000 Lipstick (£2.99) - they have lots of colours, which are pigmented and last a long time. I wore one of these on a night out. I only re-applied once. I could have gotten away with not, but I just wanted to freshen it up. Fantastic value for money!

Miss Sporty Hollywood Lipgloss (£2.99) - These lipglosses are my new crush! They have 6 or so colours, all with shimmer, and they all smell gorgeous! I bought a goldy coloured one recently which looks really nice when you lightly dab it over a nude lipstick, it really makes the lips look juicy and bigger, which is always a bonus!

Hope this helps :) x

Perfect Night Out Make Up

These are currently my fave make up products for a night out, plus false lashes and Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara, which I forgot to take photos of!!

Urban Decay De-Slick in a Tube (£18, left) which is a mattifying primer - it's really good for oily skin, which I have, and really helps to keep foundation on. There are times when I won't use this, such as with a really matte foundation. I try not to use it in the day because I like skin to have a more dewy natural look in the day.

Lancome Teint Idole in 03 (£28.10, right) is a great foundation, again for oily/combination skin as it is semi-matte and has long wear. I find this great for a night out because it stays on for so long, and my face doesn't end up looking oily after a good old dance!

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach (£17, left) is probably the best dark circle concealer I have ever used. I don't even need to use concealer. It just brightens up the area by cancelling out the dark colour. Most people will need one with a yellow undertone, with a very small minority needing one with a pink undertone (this will be people with very pale porcelain skin). Light peach is the best colour for me at this time of year, as my summer tan is starting to fade - in the summer I would use Peach to go with my tan. So it's always best to have 2 colours.
Do NOT use this on blemishes as this will make them stick out like a sore thumb! Although I have found that this can help to disguise scars on the face which are pitted, just dab a bit into the scar and blend in gently by tapping with your fingers. For the under eye area, apply into the dark corner on the bridge of the nose, all the way under the eye, up to the lash line and pat in with your finger before setting with translucent powder.

MAC Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (£17.50, right) is great because it suits any skintone. A lot of "transparent" powders aren't truly transparent and end up making people with darker skin tones look ashy. Both my friend (half jamaican) and I (half chinese) use this and it's fantastic. It's also very lightweight and you don't need to use much. I've had this pot for over a year now and I still have loads left - well worth it!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked (£13, left) - this is my newest UD purchase and I love love love it! It's a coppery gold colour, with excellent colour payoff and great staying power! I like to wear this with bold lips just for a bit of colour, but I don't blend it with other colours as the attention is the lips. If I were going to add another colour to this, I would use another UD e/s in Smog, because it's a brown-bronze colour which works really well with this colour.

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Ink (£16.50, right) is also the best eyeliner I have ever used. It lasts all day, and all night and I never need to touch it up. And should I fall asleep with my make up on (very naughty), it's still looking great when you wake up (extra time in bed!). I like to use this to do flicks, as it's long wearing, easy to use and is really pigmented. I also like to use this for a bit of a grungy eye by colouring in my whole lid with it (great for nights out!)

ELF Mineral Blush in Coral (£3.50, left) is great. It has great colour payoff, and is a mineral blusher, which is amazing for this price. This is a peachy coral colour and gives a fantastic glow on a night out. You also don't have to use a lot to get good colour build up so it lasts for ages!

Benefit Brow Zings in Dark (£22.50, right) is amazing for filling in brows. Yes, it is expensive, but it is definitely the best one I've use and you don't need to use too much - I've had this one for nearly 3 years and it's still perfect to use. Use the pigmented wax (left) for shaping and taming unruly eyebrow hairs. You may not even need to use the shadow after the wax, but for nights out, set the wax and fill in the brows with the powder. Groomed brows frame a face perfectly.

Finally, Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in Rouge 402 (£23, left) is amazing. The colour suits everyone. I actually bought this in duty free for £19, and I am not sorry that I parted with that amount of cash. The colour is fantastic, highly pigmented and lasts for ages! I would say if you were going to look for a red lipstick, that this colour would be a winner - the closest I have found to this shade is the Bourjois Sweet Kiss in Rose Seduisant (which I posted about below), but it still isn't as perfect as this shade!

I know that all of these items are a little pricey, so I will do another post in a few days on the best budget products that I would use and have used on a night out, Enjoy!

Lipstick Haul

I seem to be particularly obsessed with liptstick at the moment - eBay is amazing!

L-R: Revlon Colorburst in Ruby (bright red), Revlon Super Lustrous in Cherries in the Snow (red-pink), Revlon Colorburst in Fuschia (bright pink), Bourjois Sweet Kiss in Rose Seduisant (rosy pink), Colorburst in Blush (nude) and Plum (red-plum).

Sorry about the crap picture quality, my camera is broken so stuck with the iPhone!

The first 4 look pretty similar in the photo, but they really aren't as I described above, the colours are different. They are all fantastic for a night out, and they all have blue undertones, which make the teeth appear whiter! My favourite for a night out is currently Cherries in the Snow!

All are highly pigmented and last quite a long time, which is always a bonus, but they don't make the lips feel dry.

I bought all of them except the Bourjois one from eBay. In the shops they retail at £7.49 (Super Lustrous) and £7.99 (Colorburst and Bourjois).

Hope you guys enjoyed the post! x
